Our COVID-19 Response
At Fremont Christian School, we are committed to providing an excellent and safe education for all of our students. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and Alameda County guidelines, we have transitioned to distance learning for all of our K-12 classes.
Our Early Education department will still be offering in-person care and abiding by all Alameda County, state, and national guidelines to care for children 18 months to 5 years old as safely as possible.
Our staff have adapted quickly and found creative ways to make distance learning fun and engaging, while still academically rigorous.
With our distance learning format, we have incorporated a range of platforms commonly used in universities and beyond. We believe that by learning how to effectively navigate these platforms now, our students will be better prepared for life after FCS.
The platforms we are — Canvas, Zoom, Google, and Turnitin — are all integrated with the learning management system Canvas, which Mrs. Williams, our elementary principal and educational technology director, describes as “our virtual classroom.” You can learn more about Canvas here.
Zoom, a videoconferencing service used by students and employees around the world, is what we use to conduct our live classes. You can learn more about Zoom here.
Turnitin is a plagiarism-detection service used in universities across the country to help ensure that students do their own best work. You can learn more about Turnitin here.
